Your Lenten gifts brought new life to Hadi
Four-month-old Hadi's family fled the violence in Syria for a refugee camp in southern Lebanon. They had already suffered trauma during the conflict. Hadi's father was injured and left with a permanent disability.
When Hadi arrived at the camp, an IOCC field team identified him as being at risk for poor growth and development. He was referred to a clinic for a detailed assessment. IOCC continued working with Hadi's family, giving feeding lessons that showed proper breastfeeding practices and infant care.
Over the next two months, the IOCC team followed up regularly, monitoring Hadi's progress and providing infant nutritional counseling for his mother. When he turned six-months-old, he became eligible for outpatient treatment and started receiving vital nutritional supplements.
After two weeks of outpatient treatment, Hadi showed visible signs of improvement—much to his mother's relief. "I felt helpless seeing my child's poor health while managing my family's daily struggles ... [Now] ... I can see with my eyes the difference. My child is getting better every day."
